Richard Hagen Sr.
The President of International Maritime Consultants
is Richard Hagen who, in 1984, began conducting investigations
for a local police department, and was integrated into
the County Sheriffs Department, where he served several
years in road patrol, then served as undercover deputy
for different crime units. Mr. Hagen was transferred
to the unit’s marine squad and served there for 14 years,
rising through the ranks achieving the position of Homicide
Investigator in their renowned Marine Unit's Dive/Rescue
Team. During his assignment with the unit, Mr. Hagen
was involved with several major marine homicides and
accident-related deaths. Mr. Hagen was also involved
with Port Security after the fatal 911 incident. He
found law enforcement both challenging and rewarding,
and after retiring in 2002 became a licensed Private
Investigator in the State of Florida, eventually applying
for and receiving his Class A Agency License.
Over the years Mr. Hagen has accumulated a vast amount
of knowledge through both experience and continuing
education, some of which was hard-earned during assignments
with Special SIU Taskforce Units and maritime protection
of ports of call in Fort Lauderdale.
Within his profession, Mr. Hagen has served in many
positions including the Board of Directors for the Florida
Marine Intelligence Unit. He is a member of the United
States Association of Professional Investigations, and
the International Association of Marine Investigators.
He stays active with numerous community organizations,
and is a United States Coast Guard Licensed Captain.
In his spare time, he enjoys golfing, boating, saltwater
fishing, and working with neighbors.
